Massive Network Consolidation

As the result of a number of large acquisitions the client had ended up in a very complex and unmanageable network infrastructure. The starting point for this assignment was documented in what would be known internally as “the Picasso”.

In the course of app. 18 months we rerouted hundreds of applications to a new simplified network infrastructure. The cleanup included lots of local VPN connections and Internet breakouts as well as the removal of a large number of static routes from network devices and servers. I flew once a week to central Europe and held planning meetings with local IT and network staff as part of this assignment.
